Galveston Island has free, fireworks shows every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights throughout the summer.
There’s something magical about the way fireworks fill the sky with exploding shapes, luminous colors and triumphant finales full of crackles, booms and whistles. Fireworks displays are enjoyed by all ages.
Galveston Island dazzling twenty-minute July 4th fireworks display over the Gulf of Mexico is at 9:15 p.m. at 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard. Many prefer to watch directly on the beach or from restaurants with outdoor balcony areas. Popular viewing venues are The Spot, Nick’s Kitchen & Beach Bar and Brick House Tavern.
Moody Gardens Band on the Sand Summer Concert Series has a fireworks display over Offatts Bayou every Friday and Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. thru August 12, 2017. A great spot to watch is from the Lee and Joe Jamail Bay Park.
Every Sunday night at 9:00 p.m. at 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard is another magical seven-minute fireworks display. This magnificent display of color continues thru September 3, 2017.
More visitors are booking summer getaways on weekday nights to take advantage of weekday rates and smaller crowds.
